The end of an excellent season but what about the next one?

Well a thrilling season with a some what disappointing end. After finishing the season strong with a 4-0 win against Stockport we faced Wrexham in the playoffs. We lost both legs but the most crushing disappointment was they were two disastrous performances against those of the official season. Anyway last season is an old memory so lets focus on next season. With 12 players already under contract including new signing James dance (pictured below) our team is looking strong. This is one of the best teams we have had since promotion in the year 2000.

CAN WE WIN THE LEAGUE !?!?

The answer is yes mathematically we can win the league but it is a very slim chance. Our remaining 2 fixtures are wrexham away and stockport at home. The title is between us and Mansfield. Mansfield need just 5 points from there next 3 games to secure the league. Mansfield's remaining fixtures are Braintree away, Hereford away and wrexham at home. I can see them only dropping points at maybe Hereford and wrexham but it is slim.A link to the table can be found below.

My next blog will be a match report on the wrexham game as I am travelling to see the game and cheer on the mighty reds !!! The blog will be out on the Sunday as it is a 17:15 kick off so I wont be back till around 10ish.

An overview of this thrilling season

This has been by far the best season i have ever experienced with kiddy. As I'm sure you all know we started the season without a win for 10 games!! And sat at the bottom of the blue square premier. However we then made a season saving signing: JOSH GOWLING.

He started to add more of a shape to the defence and all of a sudden we started conceding less goals. But then possibly our biggest season changer was the return of this man:

Jamille matt is one of the best strikers i have seen at kiddy.Problems with his passport meant he couldnt play for 9 months. His first contibution to the team was a setup for Ryan rowe in a derby against telford on his debut. Then he started scoring for fun.He scored a hat trick against newport and then a goal against wrexham who were both 1st and 2nd at the time. He then scored 10 goals in his 9 games at kiddy. He had help us climb off the bottom of the table to a reasonable mid-table.Which with the start we had we were quite happy to stay there. Then the january transfer window came and we had reason to worry.

A record £300,000 move from kiddy to fleetwood (kiddys biggest ever sell and the 2nd biggest transfer in confrence history!) saw 'jamma' move away. We then started to worry as we saw remaining fixtures.
We managed to pick up results though and are sitting in a comfortable 2nd position in the league and still a slim chance off automatic promotion to the football league. My next blog will be about what needs to happen for us to win the league. Thankyou for reading.
